Bump In The Night

Posted by Jeannette on 19 October 2009

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card.  When I first thought about doing a haloween card I thought oh n0!, but once I got started and knew what I wanted it just fell into place.  Another very C&S  card but I think it looks really good, especially IRL.  I was going to use Crystal Effects on the chipboard letters but when you colour them, they dry with this wonderful suede effect and feel to them, I just love it.  I can’t stop touching them.

Colour Combo: Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie

Crystal Hearts

Crystal Hearts Closeup

More fabulous DSP, these are from the Bella Bleu set.  Aren’t they scrummy?  I love the colours and the designs.  I’ve used lots of new SU! Stash on this one. In fact the only thing that’s not new is the Brads.  I punched the Hearts from Not Quite Navy CS and then covered in Crystal Effects.

One Person

Posted by Jeannette on 12 October 2009

There’s nothing like some Kristina Werner inspiration when you need to get back into the swing of things.  Here is a very simple card using the fab New Speciality Designer Series Paper – To the Nines, they really shouldn’t be called papers because they are nothing like paper.  They have a beautiful weight to them and are more like card, they also have this wonderful texture.   I just love them and I can see lots of cards and projects being made with these.

Colour Combo:

Colour Combo: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, and Sage Shadow

Supplies Used: (All Stampin Up! Unless Otherwise Stated)
1. Card – Sahara Sand
2. Papers – To The Nines DSP

Back Again!

Posted by Jeannette on 11 October 2009

I’m back, so sorry I haven’t blogged in such a long time.  I was away on holiday in Scotland, had a really FAB weekend with My Stampin’ Up! Mum, Sisters and Cousins (I’ll be a posting all about that as soon as I catch up with everything), and I have had the most unbelievable time with my teeth.  I’ve had some extensive work done on them over the last couple of months.

The last work being done was to crown my back lower teeth, I had a week with temps on and then two with the permanents, but the last three weeks have been unbearable.  I’ve been on painkillers every 4 hours or so and on Friday morning at about 3am they decided to stop working.  For those that have had bad toothache you’ll know that it’s all over, sometimes you can’t even identify the tooth which is causing all the trouble.  I had toothache in teeth that I don’t even have anymore.  Friday afternoon I finally had a root canal done, it took my Dentist about 5 minutes to figure out which one it was. I had left if for so long as firstly I was on holiday and had the weekend with the Girls, then I was back at work after being off for two and a half weeks, and finally I really was hoping it would all settle down by itself.

Well Friday night I was starting to think all was going well and that I would have a good nights sleep especially as I’d been up since 3am.  Sadly no such luck, I woke at 4:30 with toothache.  I panicked slightly thinking we’d done the wrong tooth, but this time the pain wasn’t as intense as before and I was hoping that it was only due to the work that had been done.  Last night I went to bed with my glass of water and pain killers, fell asleep and woke up at 7:45.  Woo Hoo! The pain killers were still on the bedside table.  It’s now after two in the afternoon and I’ve not had any all day.

So here’s to things getting back to normal and being able to think and concentrate again.  That is till next Friday, my second last appointment to do my final two teeth.  It would have been my last one but the root canal has put me out by a week.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #58

Posted by Jeannette on 21 September 2009

Another day, another week!  This weeks CC Challenge is distressing.  Another quick card but this is a great way to get rid of bits, and if they’re a bit crumply so what, distress the edges and then they’re meant to look crumply.  I love this Simply Scrappin’ Kit.  I’m going to be using it for my “Journal Your Christmas” this year.  Everything is from the kit with the exception of the snow flakes, they are stamped onto Very Vanilla CS which is the Base of the card.  The edges were done using the fab Cutter kit distressing tool.  If you don’t have one you could use a ruler to tear the paper instead of cutting it or you could use a File to rough up the edges.

Colour Combo:

Colour Combo: Very Vanilla, Real Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip

Check out the Design Teams cards for some other great idea’s on Distressing, and don’t forget to enter the challenge while your there.

Supplies Used: (All Stampin Up! Unless Otherwise Stated)
1. Card, Paper, Embellishments – Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin’ Kit
2. Stamps – Snow Flurries
5. Tools – Cutter Kit
6. Mediums – Stampin’ Pad

Cheers!

Posted by Jeannette on 16 September 2009

I’m posting this from my hotel room and guess what I’m using. An Apple Mac! The Hotel has one in all their rooms instead of a TV and they have free Internet access. How Cool is that? The only problem is that I had already wanted an apple but was quite happy to wait, but now that I’ve actually had a play on one I WANT it! NOW!  Sadly I will have to wait, anyhow onto today’s card. I really had fun with making this card, I think this Stamp Set is going to be very popular. This is just one of six in the set. Come back on Friday to see another of the stamps from this set.

Cheers

Posted by Jeannette on 31 August 2009

This weeks challenge is a Recipe, you have to use 3 Buttons, 2 Papers and 1 Ribbon.  I really enjoyed this one and I was suprised at how quickly my card came together.  I used Chipboard (Again!) but this time I stamped and embossed it, not too bad for the first time.   Pop on over to CCC and check out the rest of the Design Teams creations.

Just Because!

Posted by Jeannette on 29 August 2009

For someone who doesn’t use chipboard I’m doing pretty well here.  It’s all very basic but I’m actually enjoying it now, whereas before I just didn’t have a clue.  Has anyone guessed that Kraft is my flavour of the month?  Lets see what September brings!  I’m really into colour matching and seem to find it works so well with Stampin’ Up! products, but sometimes Black works wonders too!
